Welcome.  Let's talk about special education and school psychology.

You've reached the online home of Mr. Jason Wright, Ed.S., a professional school psychologist and budding educational administrator.  This site is designed, maintained and updated solely by him/me.  I don't claim to have all the answers to the difficult questions and popular hot topics in schools today, but I do have some resources to share with you.  I hope that you'll find them useful enough to point you in the right direction.

This site is designed primarily for two audiences: educators and parents of students in the public school system.  As a school psychologist, I am asked questions by both parents and teachers.  I've also prepared a couple of pages which are designed for early career school psychologists.  My hope is that you'll find something on this website that is useful for you, no matter your role within the US public school system.

I'm proud to say that I work in Kansas.  We take pride in our educational system and keep our students' best interests at the front of our vision.  We feel that's the way it should be.  If you'd like to work in a Kansas school, you should check out the Kansas Education Employment Board (KEEB) to see if any positions are open which interest you.

A disclaimer about WrightPsych.com
: My current and previous professional experience is limited to schools in rural  Kansas communities.  The insight I share on the following pages was gleaned from my experience working in these communities; it may not be the best advice for your community.  Kansas laws and expectations will differ from those in your state. While I make an effort to provide factual and practical information, I reject any liability regarding legal issues in special education.  If you need help in a specific case, I suggest you request help from the GEI team or IEP team in your school in order to get assistance which applies in your setting.
